The Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV), the national cadastral and mapping agency of Austria will chair the Permanent Committee on Cadastre in the EU (PCC) in the second half of 2018.
The BEV presented the agenda and the objectives for the PCC presidency at the PCC plenary meeting in Sofia.
Following the principles of the PCC, the main objectives of the Austrian presidency will include:

  • initiate a discussion of the role of the PCC and the relevant organisational structure
  • Discuss possible amendments of the organisation of PCC to assure continuity, strengthen the organisation and to enhance its role and influence
  • represent the PCC at meetings/conferences
  • update of the country descriptions
  • organise a meeting of the CVC group
  • organise a PCC Conference and a PCC Plenary meeting
  • Cooperate with other relevant groups in Europe to enhance and strengthen the role of the cadastral organisations across Europe

To conclude the Austrian Presidency of the PCC the BEV will organize the PCC Conference and the PCC Plenary Meeting on 20 and 21 November 2018 in Vienna.

Hand over of the PCC- Presidency from Bulgaria to Austria:

The Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Agency of Bulgaria held the presidency of the PCC in the first half of 2018. From March 13 -15 march 2018 the Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Agency organized a successful PCC conference and a PCC plenary meeting in Sofia.

On 28 June 2018, the new director of the Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Agency, Mrs. Violeta Koritarova handed over the PCC Presidency to Wernher Hoffmann, the Head of the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV), the national cadastral and mapping agency of Austria.
